Your vagina felt good, but smelled horrible.
Weird, weird, weird, weird, and a tad bit boring.
I love Takashi Miike's films. They're chock-full of sex and violence, but they are also quite intelligent. I had really high expectations for Izo, especially considering Takeshi Kitano has a cameo along with many other of my foavrite Japanese actors. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed (and confused) by the film.
Izo is 2 hours of vitually nonstop violence, and when the title character does indeed pauses between slashes, he waxes philosophical, which I would usually eat up but for some reason I was bored by it all.
I'm definitely gonna give this film a second chance though. Maybe now that I know what to expect, I won't spend as much time scratching my head and I'll actually be able to digest the philosophy of the film when I watch it again.
